February 2007
Amazing Grace ResourceThe Amazing Grace Movie is opening in theatres on February 23, 2007. The film Amazing Grace is based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce. Elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21, and on his way to a successful political career, Wilberforce, over the course of two decades, took on the English establishment and persuaded those in power to end the inhumane trade of slavery.
Please click on www.amazinggraceresource.com for movie trailer, church resource kit, related links, educational downloads to accompany the launch of the movie. Join the Amazing Grace Campaign – to carry on Wilberforce’s vision of mercy and justice.

Message from the International Director, Geoff Tunnicliffe:
Join WEA in serving the global body of Christ, to speak for the voiceless and advocate for the oppressed. All the initiatives listed above, and many more, would not be possible without the support of those who believe we are fulfilling God’s mandate for the WEA. As our fiscal year draws to a close, please click here to read about the WEA’s work over the past 12 months, and prayerfully consider what God would have you do to assist.

African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation:
The following information was provided through Rev. Gary Edmonds, President of Breakthrough Partners (formally the General Secretary of the WEA): The Spirit of God is stirring His people to engage whole communities with the transforming love and truth of Christ. New kinds of leaders are being raised up to guide the Church to bring healing and hope to these ruined and devastated places. The African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation (ALICT) has been established with the express purpose of training and equipping a new generation of leaders in community transformation. You or someone you know may be one of these leaders whom God is calling into this strategic work. Let me encourage you to contact ALICT about how to participate in this powerful training program. Please go to their website, www.alict.org, for more information. They are now accepting applications for the July-October 2007 session.
