A Response to A Common Word Between Us and You
This is WEA’s response to “A Common Word between Us and You” from 138 Muslim Clerics. The response has been prepared by the International Institute for Religious Freedom (IIRF) led by Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher. Along with Thomas’ global IIRF team, Dr. Christine Schirrmacher also served as a consultant in producing this response. Christine is WEA’s spokesperson on Islam, a board member of the German Evangelical Alliance and a leading Christian expert on Islam in Germany who also consults with the German government. 

Interview with Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe about his visit to the Holy Land
The International Director of the World Evangelical Alliance, Geoff Tunnicliffe, has returned from the Holy Land after a weeklong visit (February 20-27, 2008) to give encouragement to Evangelicals and other Christian communities in the region, and promote peaceful resolutions to the conflict among Israeli and Palestinian political leaders.

Arab Information Ministers Vote to Limit Information
At the request of Egypt and with the support of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Ministers of Information gathered in Cairo on 12 February 2008 to consider a new charter to regulate Satellite TV content. Entitled 'Principles for Organising Satellite TV in the Arab World', the charter is both defensive and defiant, aimed at protecting Arab regimes and Islam, whilst defying all
advocates and sponsors of progress, openness and liberty.

Malaysians to vote against creeping Islamisation
For a long, long time, progressive Malaysians have been content with the status quo, believing the only alternative was the instant Islamisation advocated by PAS (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia). What they did not realise however was that the status quo meant creeping Islamisation.
